Raide EX 55L
Built for expeditions, designed to ski
The EX 55L is Raide's expedition ski backpack — built around the demands of long objectives while refusing to compromise on what matters most: the descent. It shares the DNA and full feature set of the Raide LF line, adding the volume and durability your biggest trips require. Built with Challenge Ultra 200TX on the main body and the ultra-durable 800TX on the bottom, it handles expedition loads without inflating pack weight.
Expands to 75L for basecamp hauls. Collapses to day-pack proportions — just 5 cm in depth — for everything else.

Raide EX 55L Avalanche Tools Pockets
Market-leading avalanche tool access
The EX 55L carries over the same avalanche tool access system that defines the Raide LF line. The probe is accessible from the side without removing the pack, enabling faster rescues and on-the-go snow analysis. The shovel can be reached by dropping a single shoulder strap, accommodating blades up to 31.75 cm and most large handles. Storing the probe and shovel handle on the side panels maximizes internal space and keeps weight centered — critical when moving fast on big terrain.
Raide EX 55L Side probe access
Reach your probe from the side panel without stopping or removing the pack — faster rescues, cleaner snow pits
Raide EX 55L Instant shovel access
Drop a single shoulder strap to open the shovel pocket — stored outside the main compartment, volume stays clear
Raide EX 55L Materials & Construction
Built for expedition demands
The EX 55L uses two distinct Challenge fabric constructions matched to load. Challenge Ultra 200TX covers the main body with outstanding strength and abrasion resistance. The bottom panel steps up to Challenge Ultra 800TX, their most durable construction, built to handle the added weight and ground contact of expedition use. The roll top uses 210d Nylon with UHMWPE ripstop (100% recycled), while a removable 7 mm aluminium frame and composite molded back panel provide structural support and non-bulging rigidity.
Raide EX 55L Carrying Options
Skis, board, helmet, pulk
The EX 55L shares the same carrying system as the Raide LF line. Integrated helmet carry stores your helmet securely — and fits crampons inside — without interfering with diagonal ski carry. The no-snag ice tool carry fully encloses picks to prevent snagging and loss, with independent buckles for access without removing the pack. The modular ski and board carry covers three diagonal positions including skimo carry, A-frame, and vertical snowboard carry.
Multiple lashing points on the exterior allow you to attach additional gear. The attachment system also supports pulk towing — run the harness lines directly through the pack's lashing points for glacier approaches and polar-style expedition carries.

Raide EX 55L Back Panel Access
Full access, skis mounted
Most expedition packs force you to dig from the top. The EX 55L is the only expedition ski pack with a patent-pending back panel access system — full entry to the main compartment regardless of how skis are mounted. At basecamp this means fast transitions: collapse the pack, mount your skis, access your gear, ski. A front stash pocket with drainage keeps wet skins separate from dry items, and a top zipper gives quick access without affecting the helmet carry.
