Julbo Intensity Kilian Jornet REACTIV – Photochromic sports sunglasses
See in any light, without feeling the weight
Julbo Intensity Kilian Jornet REACTIV are sports sunglasses built for trail running and mountain sports, where the light changes by the minute. The photochromic REACTIV 1–3 High Contrast lenses adapt to the conditions on their own – darkening in direct sun and lightening the moment you drop into forest or shade. At just 19 grams you barely feel them on your face. The model was developed with Kilian Jornet, and Peter Fraňo, currently Slovakia's best trail runner, races in the very same pair.
The essentials:
-
Photochromic REACTIV 1–3 High Contrast lenses (13–72 % light transmission)
-
Fast transition between bright and dark conditions
-
Just 19 g – sunglasses you forget you're wearing
-
Non-slip Grip Tech temples and nose pad that hold on the descents
-
Front anti-fog ventilation and a lifetime warranty on the photochromic coating
Photochromic REACTIV 1–3 High Contrast lenses
They adapt to any conditions
REACTIV is Julbo's photochromic technology – the lens shifts its own tint depending on how much light there is. On an open ridge it darkens to category 3; in forest or shade it lightens to category 1 within seconds. One lens covers a whole day outside.
The High Contrast version has a brown-pink tint that lifts terrain contrast – you pick out roots and rocks more clearly, especially on fast descents. The lenses filter 100 % of UVA and UVB, and the photochromic coating carries a lifetime warranty.

Julbo Intensity – They sit and hold, even on descents
Fit and comfort
The Grip Tech temples have non-slip inserts that stay put through sweat and vibration – the glasses hold their place even on a fast, technical descent. The non-slip Grip nose pad holds just as reliably. The thin, flexible temples are designed so you can wear the glasses comfortably under a helmet too, and the inserts are built into the temples themselves so they don't catch your hair. The shape and cut of the lens channel airflow through the front ventilation to keep the lens from fogging. The wide panoramic lens also gives you an unobstructed view to the sides, so you read the terrain ahead more easily.
Julbo Intensity – 19 grams and a bio-based frame
Light and made in Europe
At just 19 grams, Intensity is among the lightest sports sunglasses in its class – on a long run you simply forget they're there. The frame is made of Rilsan, a bio-based plastic derived from the castor bean, so part of the construction comes from a renewable source rather than oil. The glasses are made in Europe, in Julbo's workshops in the Jura region of France.
