COROS EvoLab

COROS EvoLab
A clear assessment of your personal fitness
How does training affect your fitness? This is a question that every ambitious athlete will undoubtedly work on. COROS EvoLab is a platform that evaluates your training, regeneration, and other indicators. It provides the best analysis of your fitness, progress in preparation, but also alerts you if you are at risk of injury due to an incorrect ratio between training and regeneration.
The COROS EvoLab platform is available to all users of COROS GPS watches - free of charge. COROS EvoLab focuses on your overall fitness throughout the training season and also includes other specific features for measuring road running performance. In the near future, the COROS EvoLab service is expected to be expanded to other activities such as trail running, cycling, etc.

Training Load
The impact of a specific workout on your body.
COROS GPS watches display the level of impact a particular workout or activity has on your body in real time. This number starts at 0 and increases based on the intensity and duration of your activity. Compare your training load to your running history and see how today's workout compares to similar activities in the past.

Training Effect
Training effect for the aerobic and anaerobic part of the training.
Training is often divided into two key categories: aerobic - building basic endurance and anaerobic - training in higher heart rate zones with higher intensity. The boundary that divides these two training positions is your anaerobic threshold. COROS EvoLab on your COROS GPS watch records your training effect in real time for the aerobic part of the training and separately for the anaerobic part of the training in the range of 0 to 5+. By analyzing this data, you can determine whether the training effect for a given category was effective enough or whether you overdid it in your training.
Base Fitness & Load Impact
A look at your preparation from a short-term and long-term perspective.
A good workout today doesn't mean you're ready for your new personal best tomorrow. Just like one bad workout won't derail your big block of training. COROS EvoLab evaluates your Load Impact for the previous 7 days of training and your Base Fitness for the previous 6 weeks of training. For best results, the COROS GPS watch also recommends a total 7-day training load range based on your individual training history.

Fatigue
The adaptive effect of training in understandable language.
Different athletes respond differently to different training loads. Running 100 km per week may be an easy program for Eliud Kipchoge. For someone else, such a training load is simply too much. Fatigue on the one hand exhausts the body, but on the other hand it also makes it stronger. This is called the adaptive effect of training. The result of the load (Load Impact) is ideally an improvement in your base fitness (Base Fitness). If you overdo the load and fatigue (Fatigue) is excessive, the opposite happens and no improvement occurs. This is a common cycle in training and the COROS EvoLab provides a fatigue score between 0 and 100 and categorizes your score into 5 different zones.
Are you getting ready for a race soon? Be sure to move from the Optimized Zone to the Performance Zone in your preparation. Or what is often referred to as a "taper", which means cutting back on volume and fine-tuning your speed before a race.
Marathon Level
How long would it take you to run a marathon?
Races are certainly not run on paper or in apps. However, COROS EvoLab will give you an indicative score from 0 to 100 for running a marathon distance. (A score of 100 equals a marathon run in two hours.) This metric can also serve as a great indicator of your overall running fitness.

Running Performance
Your running performance score.
Dynamic metrics for the demanding.
For those who want to see a more dynamic metric, a running performance score between 80% and 120% will show how today's run compares to your overall running fitness. Your running performance depends on many external factors such as sleep, recovery, nutrition, stress, weather, and more. A stable score of 100% and above is a very good indicator that your overall fitness is improving.
Race Performance Estimation - Race Predictor
Estimate your running performance on the most popular distances.
Whether you're training for a 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon, COROS EvoLab provides an estimate of your total running time and pace for these popular running distances - right in your COROS GPS watch .

Training Focus
How did a particular training session affect a specific part of the preparation?
Every run has its own focus - whether you're building basic endurance, speed or other specific skills. COROS EvoLab uses heart rate, running pace and various other training metrics from your COROS GPS watch to evaluate how much a particular workout has impacted a specific part of your training (such as speed, explosiveness, basic endurance, etc.)
Advanced data analysis - Advanced Data Analysis
Complex data in understandable views.
COROS EvoLab provides a simplified tool for monitoring your fitness metrics and trends. You can track your progress on your profile page in the COROS app. A unique seasonal view of your fitness improvement trend will help indicate the approaching peak of your training.
